LEADERKAM KAMMPROFILE GASKETS
For more mechanical strength soft gasket material can be combined and supported by metal carrier. Concentric grooves are machined in a metal core ring or strip and a flexible layer (mostly graphite, mica or PTFE) is glued upon this metal carrier. When installing the gasket, seating stress is applied on the gasket’s surface. As a result, the soft layer is compressed to fit between the flange and the metal carrier for ensuring sealing conditions. The function of the grooves is to reduce the minimum seating stress.
