Flange isolating gaskets/kits are used to stop the current flow across metallic pipelines by electrically separating two flanges.
- Cathodic protection for underground and above ground pipelines to control the stray electric current flow.

The gasket inner diameter is exactly matched to the flange bore which can greatly mitigate the effects of flow induced corrosion and erosion, eliminates turbulent flow, and prevents electric current flow at ID.
