Graphite gaskets

Graphite displays both metallic and non-metallic properties making it appropriate for modern  applications. Graphite gaskets are commonly used inapplications at high temperature and/or high pressure. In general, the maximum allowable temperature for graphite is 450C. Graphite gaskets come in various configurations such as natural or expanded graphite with various

types of inserts. Products of expanded graphite come into play where other materials fail.

1. EGRAFLEX GHE (AS)

Graphite sheet (purity 98%) reinforced with a perforated stainless steel (316L)  insert. Universal material for chemical and petrochemical industry. Suitable for thermal oils and steam at high temperature.

The AS option provides the gasket material with an anti-stick layer is applied on both sides of the gasket.

2. EGRAFLEX NR

Graphite sheet (purity 98%) reinforced with a nickel foil insert. This nickel foil guarantees a good chemical resistance and makes the material easy to cut. Material for chemical and petrochemical industry. Suitable for thermal oils and oxygen applications.

3. EGRAFLEX SPG

Egraflex SPG is an adhesive-free graphite gasket sheet consisting of flexible graphite foil reinforced by a stainless steel (316L) tanged sheet. The tanged steel support imparts bring strength to the product, and being mechanically bound to the graphite layers does not have the potential limitations of adhesive-bound products, Specifically in contact with certain solvents or when subject to combinations of high surface stress and high temperature.

This material has a higher blowout resistance, and therefore higher maximum service pressure, than adhesively bonded products, but is more difficult to cut by hand.

1. Novaphit SSTC (XP)

Novaphit SSTC consists of high-quality graphite, reinforced with a stretched stainless steel insert. Very good springback and even surface pressure due to the insert. Universally applicable in chemical and petrochemical industry. Suitable for various chemicals, steam and oils.

The XP technology option provides:

• Non-stick properties for easy replacement
• Inorganic active substance for long time media stability
• Increase in oxidation resistance

2. Novaphit SSTC TA-L (XP)

Novaphit SSTC TAL consists of high-quality graphite, with internal impregnation TA Luft, reinforced with a stretched stainless steel insert. Very goodspringback and even surface pressure due to the insert. Universally applicable in chemical and petrochemical industry. Suitable for various chemicals, gasses, steam and oils.

The XP technology option provides:

3. Novaphit MST XP

Multilayer gasket material made from expanded graphite (purity 99,5%) with various expanded and flat stainless steel inserts and with a unique impregnation and anti-sticking properties.

The broad thermal range (-200 °C to 550 °C), the exceptional resistance to pressure and the universal chemical resistance make the Novaphit MST XP an all-round quality. Due to the expanded metal insert, the Novaphit MST XP can absorb large unevennesses in the flange surface.

4. Sigraflex HD

High-quality pressure-resistant graphite gasket(purity 99,85%) reinforced with various stainless steel foils (0,05 mm), highly gas-tight.

Suitable for high pressure steam, chemical applications and thermal oils. Universally applicable in chemical and petrochemical industry, for chemicals, gasses, steam en oils.

5. Sigraflex HD Pro

High-quality pressure-resistant graphite gasket (purity 99,85%) reinforced with various stainless steel foils (0,05 mm), highly gas-tight.

High pressure steam, chemical applications and thermal oils. Universally applicable in chemical and petrochemical industry. Suitable for various chemicals, steam and oils.

6. Sigraflex Universal

Sealing sheet made from impregnated graphite with perforated stainless steel sheet reinforcement.

Low permeability to gases, impermeable to liquids. Can be used from cryogenic temperatures up to about 500°C depending on installation and operating conditions. Good scratch resistance,”antistick“ behavior, due to resin impregnation.

7. Sigraflex Universal Pro

TA Luft-complaint sealing sheet made from adhesive-free impregnated graphite with perforated stainless steel sheet reinforcement.

8. Elastagraph

Elastagraph™ gaskets are produced by infusing seamless layers of flexible graphite at varying densities and thicknessess over a corrugated metallic core. Elastagraph™ utilizes a unique corrugated pattern which increases the depth of the groove and the

pitch at the peak of the corrugation. This greatly improves the gaskets sealability over traditional corrugated designs.

Elastagraph™ is designed specifically to solve fugitive emission and compliance problems. It also has excellent performance in bolted joints that experience thermal cycling or limited initial bolt load. Elastagraph™ is the most economical way of meeting.

9. Graphite tape

SIGRAFLEX foils or foil tapes are flexible graphite products characterized by their high standard of quality. The proven quality of this materials considerably enhances process reliability.

Products made of SIGRAFLEX are chemically resistant against the vast majority of media, and largely against radiation too. Furthermore, the graphite foils and tapes boast sealing properties with long-term stability of temperatures op to approx.. 550°C.

Available as corrugated foil tape, foils and self-adhesive foil with release paper.
