REACh
What is REACh?
REACH is the Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals and it is based on the principle that it is for manufacturers, importers and downstream users to ensure that they manufacture, place on the market or use such substances that do not adversely affect human health or the environment. The responsibility for the management of the risks of substances lies therefore with the natural or legal persons2 that manufacture, import, place on the market or use these substances in the context of their professional activities.
The registration provisions require manufacturers and importers to collect or generate data on the substances they manufacture or import, to use these data to assess the risks related to these substances and to develop and recommend appropriate risk management measures to control these risks.
